CLIMATE & ENVIRONMENT
Our work in the area of climate and environment has included the development of communication strategies, research and learning outputs, and the integration of climate dimensions into health and social development communication. We have delivered climate-related assignments for organisations including the African Interdisciplinary Climate Change Research Network (AfricaInteract), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and the Diocese of Oxford. We have a particular focus on climate communication for public engagement and adaptation, and bring experience linking environmental sustainability with social and behaviour change approaches.

Evaluation: We offer technical guidance in the evaluation of knowledge-sharing and adaptation-focused programmes that integrate climate, food systems, and community resilience.
Capacity: We can deliver participatory training sessions and integrate climate issues into broader communication and social development training modules.
Knowledge Management: We offer packaging of case studies, synthesis of research, and learning content development to make climate and environmental knowledge accessible and actionable.
Creative Production: We can support the production of public-facing materials and platform content that promote climate awareness, food security, and sustainable development.
Our Experience
We are experienced in communicating climate and environmental issues in ways that connect global challenges to local realities. Our work has supported both public understanding and policy engagement through storytelling, participatory tools, and synthesis of complex research. We can demonstrate capacity to bridge communication between research, communities, and development partners in the context of climate resilience and sustainability.
Projects & Consultancies
Our past work in the climate and environment area includes:
Climate and Environment Strategy, Diocese of Oxford (UK) (2023): We led the development of a climate and environment behaviour change strategy for the Diocese, covering 800 churches and 500 clergy homes. This included strategy consultations, the design of a Diocese-wide net zero plan, school-based campaigns and materials on climate action, and the establishment of a network of local climate advocates.
Evaluation of AfricaInteract, International Development Research Centre (IDRC) (Pan-African) (2014): We conducted an end-of-project evaluation of the AfricaInteract platform, which focused on knowledge exchange around climate change adaptation in Africa. The assignment included partner interviews, synthesis of outputs, and recommendations on strategic communication and platform sustainability.
Ongoing Climate and Communication Engagement, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) (Global) (2013–2018): We have engaged with FAO in relation to communication and food security in the context of climate change. This has included participation in technical dialogue and knowledge-sharing events.
Presentation on Communication and Food Security, FAO (Rome) (2017): We presented on the role of communication in addressing food security challenges during FAO technical meetings. The presentation focused on linking local knowledge and system change.
Contribution to the Coordination of XIII UN Inter-Agency Roundtable on C4D, FAO/UN System (Rome) (2014): We contributed to the coordination of the thirteenth Inter-Agency Roundtable on Communication for Development, hosted by FAO and focused on family farming, climate change, and food security. The event brought together UN agencies and development partners to share learning and policy directions.
Evaluation Guidance for Research Into Use, Department for International Development (DFID) (Africa/Asia) (2012): We provided technical guidance in the evaluation of the Research Into Use (RIU) programme, with a focus on communication of agricultural innovation and climate adaptation learning.
