Hygiene Promotion Toolkit and Training

Objective: To design a standardised hygiene promotion toolkit and deliver training on C4D skills for WASH.
Outputs: To meet the project objectives, we successfully carried out the following:
Toolkit development: conducted a desk review of hygiene promotion toolkits, C4D for hygiene promotion training tools, standard hygiene promotion procedures at IDP locations and others; designed the toolkit outline; compiled and produced a C4D for hygiene behaviour change toolkit in Arabic that combined C4D strategies, approaches and processes for hygiene behaviour change, intervention levels, communication skills, key messages for target audience groups, methods of social mobilisation, and hygiene evaluation procedures
Training development and delivery: designed a training agenda and materials; conducted a Learning Needs Assessment; liaised with trainees, ensuring logistical support and event management; arranged for the selection of global C4D and hygiene promotion experts, and delivered training to 25 WASH stakeholders over a four-day training course.
Final project report: provided a workshop output assessment as well as pre-and post-training baseline comparative narrative and an M&E framework for outcome assessment post training.
Specific C4D Ltd inputs: Our roster of C4D Network Service Providers enabled us to source and provide two international experts on C4D and an in-country trainer, alongside two professional translators to facilitate the training and the development of the training materials. Our Network contacts in the MENA region also meant we were able to contract various expert speakers from a variety of organisations to give talks on their work, offering a thorough curriculum, well-adapted to the experience levels of the beneficiaries that challenged and engaged them. This was reflected in participant feedback - “Great team work and astonishing results... I enjoyed sharing experiences between different NGOs... There was a good spirit between trainers and trainees.”
