The fourth edition of mySociety’s The Impacts of Civic Technology Conference will take place on 18 and 19 April 2018 in Lisbon, Portugal.
The conference will focus on the impact that civic technology and digital democracy are having upon citizens, decision-makers and governments around the world. Discussions will be around themes of engagement, participation, institution, social behaviour, politics, community, digital capability, communication and ethics relating to the use and study of civic technology.
Organisers invite individuals and organisations to submit abstracts or workshop proposals of no more than 300 words by 2nd February 2018.
Submissions to focus on the specific impacts of technologies, rather than showcase new tools that are as yet untested.
Proposals that can demonstrate data or evidence of how civic technology has been impactful in some way will be prioritised and presentations that examine negative results, as well as research evidencing positive outcomes, are encouraged.
Abstracts should preferably include a brief overview of the research, the research questions, the methods used, and the results to be shared.
